What I'm Really Good At:
Although the methods and media have changed many times over the years I have spent my entire career doing the following - Tell stories in a compelling way, build customer relationships, and deliver the goods, in a big way, every time! In a management role or as a "one man department" I identify challenges/opportunities, find solutions, and execute them to get solid results.
I possess a rare skill set in that I am good at both the creative and the technical. I have programmed robust web applications as well as designed award winning web sites, logos and traditional marketing materials. I have developed brands and managed the establishment and growth of those brands.
I also have the written and oral presentation skills to inform, persuade and motivate an audience of one, a few, or hundreds.
Examples of my accomplishments:
- Created, organized and managed a new marketing department for a rapidly growing Regional Telecom Company. Prior to my hire, marketing was spread all over the company with no organized plan or accountability. I created the marketing department and brought all marketing, traditional and digital, "under one roof". Since my hire the company has grown from 80 to 120 employees and now controls over an 80% share of the business and over a 68% share of the residential customers in the market.
- Completely redeveloped the web site and content management system, as well as developed and initiated the social media presence for Stemilt Growers, the world’s largest Apple growing, packing, and shipping company.
- Developed the web site and Social Media presence for the Auction of Washington Wines an event for the Washington Wine Commission. During my 5 years consulting them we developed an active, engaging, social media presence, a more engaging web site and raised an average of over $2 million a year for uncompensated care at Seattle Children’s Hospital.
Objective:
My objective is to find a company that will take full advantage of my talents and will keep me engaged and challenged. I love the controlled creative chaos that occurs in a growing, ambitious company, this is an environment I enjoy and where I do my best work. I’m good at playing what I call creative ping pong, the creative collaboration that can give rise to exciting, innovative concepts, then managing and working the concepts to fulfillment, achieving solid, analytically proven results.
I’m currently in Washington State, so why are you receiving this resume in the Tampa/St Petersburg area? Simple, it is my objective to move there! I enjoy my current job as the Marketing and New Media Director of a growing, diversified, telecommunications company here in the Northwest, but my wife and I have wanted to move to the Tampa area for years, we have decided it’s time to make it happen.
I look forward to interviewing with you! Let’s see how I can put my skills to work for your organization.
